The Local Plan sets out the vision for the whole borough and the Council’s approach to development up to 2034. The plan plays an important role in shaping the borough’s future – how our town and villages develop, protecting and enhancing our natural environment, developing our local economy, improving leisure and visitor facilities, addressing transport and infrastructure needs and supporting more sustainable forms of travel.
The Council submitted the submission Local Plan: Strategy and Sites to the Secretary of State in December 2017. The plan has since been subject to public examination by an independent Inspector, which is still ongoing. Following a series of public hearing sessions, the Inspector has found that the plan is sound subject to a number of main modifications. The Council is consulting on the proposed modifications for six weeks from 12 noon on 11 September 2018 to 12 noon on 23 October 2018.
The Schedule of Main Modifications can be found on the consultation webpage at https://getinvolved.guildford.
You can make comments on the Schedule of Main Modifications online through the consultation webpage.
